The Impact of Social Capital on Organizational Efficiency with the Mediating Role of Organizational Creativity

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the impact of social capital on organizational efficiency with the mediating role of organizational creativity in the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of West Azarbaijan Province. The current research is of applied, descriptive and quantitative type, whose data was collected by field-survey and library. The statistical population of the research was the employees working in the youth sports departments of West Azarbaijan province in 2023 (270 people), according to the table of Karjesi and Morgan, 159 of them were selected as a statistical sample using stratified random method. The research tools were three standard questionnaires of social capital Nahapit and Goshal (1998), organizational efficiency by Priang and Singh Sai (2012) and organizational creativity by Di Lillo and Hooten (2008). Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling and Sobel test in smartpls3.1.1 and spss23 software and at a significance level of 0.05. The research results showed that social capital (p=0.001; t=17.820) and organizational creativity (p=0.001; t=10.946) have a positive and significant effect on organizational efficiency; Social capital has a positive and significant effect on organizational creativity (p=0.001; t=30.972) and organizational creativity plays a mediating role in the effect of social capital on organizational efficiency (p=0.001; t=12.613). Therefore, the General Administration of Sports and Youth of West Azarbaijan Province can realize its goals by identifying potential creativity and turning it into reality and honoring values with minimal time and cost.
