The growing dependence of adolescent girls on social media has led to unhealthy leisure patterns, reduced physical activity, and increased psychological and social harms. This qualitative study, employing Glaser's grounded theory approach, aimed to identify strategies to mitigate this dependency through sports. Data were collected through 29 semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, including female students, parents, physical education teachers, school administrators, academics, and sports officials. Using MAXQDA software, the data underwent open, axial, and selective coding, yielding 120 final codes categorized into four main dimensions (internal, environmental, managerial, and informational) and nine subcategories. Findings revealed that structural and cultural interventions such as improving sports facility access, developing school-based sports programs, educating families, strategically leveraging media for sports promotion, and offering motivational incentives (discounts, rewards, group challenges) effectively reduce media dependency. These measures enhance motor literacy, improve social interactions, redefine leisure's role, and shift digital-centric lifestyles toward active, meaningful living. The study concludes that sports serve not only to improve physical health but also as a strategic sociocultural tool for reshaping adolescents' leisure patterns and countering emerging media-related harms. By fostering active lifestyles, sports offer a sustainable alternative to digital dependency during leisure time.
