The present study aimed to phenomenologically investigate the lived experience of Iranian Generation Z regarding the physical activity spectrum. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and interpretative phenomenological analysis. The target population included individuals born between 1997 and 2006 residing in Tabriz who had reported at least one significant shift in their physical activity level during the six months prior to the study. Purposive sampling with maximum variation was employed, followed by snowball sampling, and continued until achieving interpretive depth and information richness. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 22 participants (12 women and 10 men) and analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step method and MAXQDA 2022 software. Data analysis led to the identification of 6 main themes, 18 sub-themes, and 57 open codes. The main themes included: (1) The Body as a Battlefield of Norms, (2) The Continuum of Justifiability of Behavior, (3) Community as Catalyst or Inhibitor, (4) The Ideal Body, The Suffering Body, (5) Technology from Empowerment to Enslavement, and (6) Movement within the Spectrum. Thematic analysis demonstrated that sportive vagrancy is not a homogeneous phenomenon and can be distinguished into two types: protest vagrancy as a conscious and resistant choice against health norms, and vagrancy arising from deprivation or exhaustion as a reaction to economic constraints or psychological burnout. The two poles of sportive vagrancy and exercise addiction are not separate states but two ends of a dynamic continuum shaped by the complex interplay of normative, economic, technological, and generational factors.
