چکیده [English]

The purpose of the present study was to develop a model of sports participation among high school students in Tabriz based on psychological and sociological factors. The research method was applied, qualitative in nature, and conducted using the grounded theory approach of Glaser. The statistical population included professors and experts in sports management, sociology specialists, senior managers and experts of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, as well as managers and experts of the Federation of Public Sports. The research sample was selected from among the population using the snowball sampling method. The research tool consisted of semi-structured interviews with 15 experts, which continued until theoretical saturation was reached. To ensure validity, two methods—participant validation and triangulation—were employed, while reliability was confirmed using the intra-subject agreement method, yielding 87%. The findings of the study indicated that the model of sports participation in schools based on psychological and sociological factors includes 111 initial themes, 17 secondary themes, and 6 organizing themes: improvement of physical education programs, access to information and resources, responsibility, positive attitude, family and community participation, and assessment tools. The future of sports in any country depends on the extent of attention and importance given to sports participation in schools. The development of sports participation in schools is a dynamic process, and to achieve it and its developmental outcomes, policymakers and planners must take stakeholders, strategies, processes, and pathways of sports development into account when formulating policies and programs for student sports.
